2024 Whitestone Farm Classes and Divisions

California Warm up 

One warm-up trip per horse/rider combination. Will run all day. Fence height determined by class offerings. Unjudged but costs entry fee.

 

Lead Line 

Open to children 7 and under - riders not to have reached their 8th birthday as of Dec. 1, 2023. Riders may not cross-enter into any class where they would be asked to trot.  BHSA recognized class is class #4.

 

Pre-Short Preview Eq.

Open to Leadline and beginner riders 10 and under – not attached to a leadline but riders must be accompanied by a helper. Riders may only cross enter into Pre-Short Stirrup Eq. Walk (class #5)

 

Pre-Short Stirrup Eq. 

Open to riders 10 and under.  Riders may be asked to walk, trot, and perform simple equitation tasks.  Riders may not cross enter into classes where they would be asked to canter or jump. Riders not to have reached their 11th birthday as of Dec. 1, 2023.

 

CRC Public Relations Short Stirrup Eq.

Open to riders 12 and under. Riders may not cross enter into classes where they would jump over 18”. May trot fences. Riders not to have reached their 13th birthday as of Dec. 1, 2023.  The CRC Public Relations Perpetual Trophy kindly donated by the Greg Mueller family

Long Stirrup Eq.

Open to riders 13 and older as of Dec. 1, 2023. Riders may not cross enter into classes where they would jump over 18”. May trot fences. BHSA recognized are classes #12, 13, 14.

Student Equitation 

Open to riders of any age in their 1st or 2nd year of showing o/f at 2’ or higher as of Dec. 1, 2023.  Riders are limited to two years only in this division whether they compete o/f or not. May trot fences. 

 

Pleasure Pony

Open to ponies ridden by juniors shown with hunter tack. To be judged on manners, suitability, soundness, and way of going.

American Heritage Homes Green Pony Hunter

Open to ponies ridden by juniors.  Ponies must be in their first year of showing as of Dec. 1, 2023 in any class that requires ponies to jump the designated height for green ponies.  Fences 2’ for small, 2’3” for medium and 2’6” for large ponies.  This perpetual trophy donated by American Heritage Homes.  www.ahhva.com

Ultimate Pontiac, Buick, GMC Pony Hunter

Open to ponies ridden by juniors.  Fences 2’ for small, 2’3” for medium, and 2’6” for large ponies.  The Large Pony Perpetual Trophy donated by Ultimate Pontiac, Buick, GMC.  www.driveULTIMATE.com

Whitestone Farm/VHSA Associate/BHSA Pony Equitation

Open to juniors mounted on ponies.  Fences 2’ for small, 2’3” for medium and 2’6” for large ponies. The judge may select at least 1/4 of the class to return to show at a walk, trot, and canter, and to perform additional tests at the judge’s discretion.

 

Jr/Amateur Showmanship

Open to juniors and amateurs who may exhibit horses or ponies. To be shown in halter or bridle and exhibited on the line. Will be asked to walk and jog their entries in hand. To be judged on handling, showmanship, and turnout of handlers and entries only. Conformation, movement, and overall quality of entries not to be considered. The class may be split between juniors and amateurs at management’s discretion.

Pleasure Horse

Open to horses shown with hunter tack.  To be judged on manners, suitability, soundness, and way of going. Division can be split if

entries warrant.

VHSA Equitation on the Flat

Open to juniors on horses or ponies, and adults on horses or ponies not entered in a pony division.  To be shown at a w-t-c both ways of the ring and judged on position, control, and guidance.  Tests #1-19 may be used, excluding those requiring work o/f.  May be split: Juniors (14 & under), Juniors (15-17), and Adult Amateurs if entries warrant. 

Cowles Parkway Ford Maiden Hunter

Open to horses and ponies in their first year of showing over fences at 2’ or higher as of Dec. 1, 2023.  No restrictions on riders.  Fences 2’ and may be trotted. This perpetual trophy donated by Cowles Parkway Ford of Woodbridge.  www.fordtrucksusa.com

Limit Rider Hunter

Open to juniors and adult amateurs who are not entered in any classes jumping 2’6” or higher. Fences 2’ or 2’3”. Horses and ponies may cross enter into other divisions. Riders are not eligible for Adult AM. Eq, Pony Eq. or Children’s Eq. O/F

Dae Won Construction Low Hunter

Open to horses and ponies.  No restrictions on riders.  Fences 2’ or 2’3”.  This perpetual trophy donated by Dae Won Construction Company, Inc.

 

Betty Milone Memorial Green Hunter

Open to horses in their 1st or 2nd year of showing over fences at 2’6” or higher as of Dec. 1, 2023.  Fences 2’6.  This perpetual trophy, donated by Carol Hawley and Kathleen Bonner, is dedicated to the memory of our dear horse show friend. 

 

Thoroughbred Hunter

Open to Thoroughbreds registered with the Jockey Club or eligible to be registered. Fences 2’6”

Forrest Linton Memorial Working Hunter

Open to all horses and ponies not entered in a pony division.  Fences 2’6”,2’9” or 3’. In order for points to count for BHSA, horse must jump at least 2’9”. This perpetual trophy donated by Mr. And Mrs. Hunter Morin is dedicated to the memory of a much-loved local trainer and friend. 

Jeff Pittman Memorial Children’s/Adult Amateur Hunter

Open to juniors on horses and adult amateurs on horses or ponies not ridden in a pony division.  Fences at 2’6” or 3’.   Division will be split if entries warrant.  This perpetual trophy is dedicated to the memory of Jeff Pittman – a beloved friend of the Quad J Farm family.
